Could WikiLeaks Bring down the Absurdity of the British Monarchy if it chose to?
The answer to that question is a resounding YES. But…………….
The major source of leaked information at present derives from the U.S.A. Thankfully it was because of this that the nationally damaging self-importance – arrogance - of the British Monarchy's buffoon - Prince Andrew came to light; the consequences of which ought to be his dismissal or at least a face saving resignation. Nothing less can possibly satisfy a justice seeking British public.
However, what if a public spirited whistleblower in Britain decided to come clean, and expose the self serving secrets of the British royals to public scrutiny, "in the national interest" of course, by exposing from the very top yet more examples of the nation's diminished and downward spiralling integrity? In particular the decades of the 1950's and 1960's.
Consequently, would the copious alleged transgressions of Britain's royals who seek to sustain the Monarchy be allowed to appear in the public domain? Recent knowledge, that Prince Charles and his hand written green ink letters of political persuasion to various government ministers are to be excluded from the public scrutiny of the FOI is disgraceful. What has this man, and his mother's government – she irritatingly & constantly harps on about HER government - to hide from exposure; clearly a matter so sensitive as to require an affiliated and connived exclusion.
According to the British media, Mr Assange had been staying with a journalist in London, and since being given bail is now the host of this same person; an extremely wealthy land-owner in Suffolk, East Anglia. This raises the question. Who is this person who has decided to help an anti-establishment figure in grim need of support, and why has he decided to help him now? Indeed what do we know about the politics of this East Anglia fellow?
As an ex Captain in the Grenadier Guards, he, like his fellow officers swore allegiance to Britain's autocratic Queen, her heirs and successors, and by association can be regarded as a long serving and staunch devotee of the British Monarchical Establishment. A phone call to his London office, confirmed that he was educated at the co-educational Wellington College, a public school with a title that suggests military roots and martial aspirations. With term fees of between £7,000 and £8,000 it is as far removed from the deprived areas of our inner city schools, as the North Star is from the earth; like the state rejected boys and girls from poor backgrounds who can make out the lavish buildings and hundreds of acres of manicured grounds of Wellington College but are excluded from it.
Moreover to make matters worse, a major part of the college curriculum concerns the Duke of Edinburgh's award scheme – oh my, how pro establishment can you get? Indeed, reading the curriculum guff reminded me of the Duke's comments at the time of the unspeakable Dunblane massacre when it was suggested that guns be banned. His remarks, not verbatim, were along the lines of "…one would hardly ban the cricket bat would one…" 'Nuff said surely, except "what a moron".
Consequently, Mr Smith is highly unlikely to be politically left of centre. Although I admit that there are a few influential people on the left of British politics who are also exceedingly well-heeled.
However, it would be interesting to know who engineered the meeting between Mr Vaughan Smith and Julian Assange, which enabled the latter to temporarily retire to the remote Ellingham Hall? Is there perhaps a third or even a fourth highly influential party involved? Is their perhaps a hidden political agenda hiding beneath the surface, or is it after all, just a one off agreement, a type of marriage of convenience that has been harmoniously concluded between two individuals?
Or is it as many people allegedly fear, a carefully planned arrangement of which the end result will gratify the political objectives of a ferocious Monarchical British Establishment that finds itself backed into a corner?
We should not forget either, that Mr Assange is under tremendous pressure to concur with the wishes of the British Monarchical Establishment; possible extradition to Sweden and then probable deportation to a perceived life sentence of merciless incarceration in an America 'Guantamano' type gaol. Regrettably, for righteousness and justice, Monarchical Britain has been dealt a great hand; the cards are unquestionably stacked yet again in its favour.
What's more the world has long acknowledged that Monarchical Britain is, and always has been a cunning and untrustworthy adversary – just look at the history books for confirmation. And rest assured my friends, that at this very moment there are scores of rather odd and misinformed – brainwashed - but sharp, wily intellects deviously beavering away into the hours of darkness, intent on furthering the British Monarchical establishment's continuance and public approval no matter what.
Public transparency within the Queen's government should be a natural and democratic right that must be observed and pursued without fear or favour. But as Mr Pilger stated in his recent documentary The War you don't see, unless we have truly independent journalism that is NOT embedded at the will of the government, the truth will never prevail.
This in many respects is the situation in Britain at the present time, where the vast majority of the media is basically embedded within the grisly bowels of the royals and their gruesome anachronistic monarchy. If WikiLeaks and its followers are genuinely interested in exposing all the truth and not just acting as simple duped distributors of approved titbits, then nothing will change.
I cannot remember who it was who made this quote, but it seems apt here.
"…never concern yourself unduly about the people, let us cosset the establishment first and ensure control of the masses thereafter…" a 19th Century wit.
