Pending issue of abnormal price rise by Nestle on Dailry whitener

We have received a vague and generalised reply from Nestle on revision of prices of dairy whitener dratsically.Rs 70 for a 190 gm pack means rs 37 per litre of milk equivalent wheras most of dairies are paying Rs 12-15 in their respective catchment areas.Since out governemnts have failed to regulate and minitor price ris eine conomy this job is to be done by NGOs like us and keep the greedy industires on tenterhooks.<DIV>We request out members who have knowledge about Dairy sector and specially Dr Zala and others to kindly colelct milk shed producrement prices on fat and SNF basis and send to us so we can compile and work out fair prices. It is time people take governnace of coutnry in their hands as poltcians and babus have joined the process ofmloot.Every month companie sare rasing prices and this is going on sicne 8 years non stop while MM singh gives false asurances every six months that prices will mdoerate in next six months.he has managed to escape for 8 years with his falsehoods.WE also rewquest ou active members to take up similar cases of various leading cvompanies and pin them down for price rise, specially MNCs and pahrama companies who are out on loot.If need arises we shall go to competion comssion and Minsitry of food and civil suppleis and challenge them, to take up price exploitation cases and unfair trae practcies.<DIV>Moderator<DIV>Dear Mr. Gupta,

Thanks for your enquiry of 6 October, 2011 wherein you have raised concern on MRP revisions of NESTLE EVERYDAY Dairy Whitener.

We wish to clarify the that MRP of 190 grams pack of Dairy Whitener was revised from Rs.62 to Rs.70 in October, 2011 (not from Rs.58). The grammage before and after the price increase has been consistent at 190 grams and there has been no grammage reduction during 2011 or 2010.

We have been constrained to effect the price revision for the 190 grams pack, due to the increasing commodity and other costs pressure, especially in the milk procurement, which are all the major contributory factors on the pricing front. We hope you do acknowledge the overall challenging environment with high levels of inflation.

Consumer satisfaction has always been and shall always remain the most important for the Company. We wish to assure you of our commitment to provide our consumers with high quality nutritional products at a fair price.

There are a few inaccuracies in your communication on the MRP before revision and the grammage, which we have clarified above. .

We trust we have explained our position to your satisfaction.

Assuring you of our best attention at all times.

With Warm Regards,

Ana A. Sinha
