NEW DELHI: Hitting out at detractors, activist Anna Hazare on Wednesday said he did not pay heed to the "incoherent discussions" and "illogical interpretations" on his movement. Blaming criticism on political rivalry, Hazare said this would not break his spirit. The comments were posted on his blog a day after two members quit from Team Anna expressing their objection to the political overtone the anti-corruption movement had taken.
Team Anna has come under fire for its "anti-Congress" strategy in the Hisar by-polls where the party's candidate lost his deposit. Hazare's blog indicated that while the team may have suspended campaigning till the winter session of Parliament, it remains undeterred from its focus on keeping up pressure on the ruling party.
Speaking to TOI, key Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal said corrupt political forces were behind the attacks. "First they tried to defame us, now they want to physically attack us. We are expecting more such attacks but we have asked our volunteers not to resort to violence in retaliation," he said.
"The attack on me is by those who favour corruption and those who termed Anna Hazare as dictator and released a CD for character assassination of Prashant and Shanti Bhushan," Kejriwal said. On the slipper attack on him, he said, "It was a conspiracy by people having vested interests to weaken the campaign, but Anna and other members of civil society will not withdraw."
Hazare, who is on maun vrat (vow of silence), blogged, "I have heard illogical discussions and interpretations crop up due to political rivalry and it has been a part of my life for the last 30 years. All this fails to break my spirit. This gives me the strength to walk the path I have chosen and will keep going ahead... My movement has given rise to incoherent discussions in political circles and I do not pay heed to them."
Kejriwal and some other members of Team Anna's core committee will continue their Uttar Pradesh tour. "We want a strong Jan Lokpal bill and for this we have to follow the path of peace and non-violence as some persons are trying to physically disturb the team," he said.
On Rajendra Singh and P V Rajagopal leaving the team, Kejriwal said they were not attending meetings and were not aware of its activities. He said efforts would be made to convince them to take back their resignations.
He said if the bill was not brought in the winter session of Parliament, they would restart the agitation. Talking to reporters in Gorakhpur, he said although all parties were deep into corruption, the team would continue to put pressure on Congress as it is at the helm of affairs at the Centre.

Corrupt politicians have a vested interest in seeing to it that strong Lok Pal bill is not passed so that they could continue with corruption which is their bread and better. This may be the reason for attack on members of Anna Team.
