About 40% of all 'abductions' are of women, for marriage: NCRB
Close to 40% of all 'kidnappings' in the country are of women who are abducted for marriage. Latest data from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), which has for the first time tabulated data on reasons for abduction, also suggests that ransom is no more a major motivation for kidnapping.
