India failed to crush movement with bulletSrinagar, September 02, 2010: The Chairman of All parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Syed Ali Gilani had said that India and its puppet regime in Occupied State of Jammu & Kashmir is failed to crush the "Quite Kashmir Movement". He was talking to the media after Indian forces arrested 20 Kashmiri leaders of APHC from outside his house, when they were leaving Gilani's house after APHC meeting.

The APHC spokesman, Ayaz Akbar said that Indian forces had cordoned Hyderpora and residence of Syed Ali Gilani is also barricaded. The Indian forces also searched various homes at the same location.

While talking to the media, Syed Ali Gilani condemned the Indian action of arresting 20 Kashmiri leaders and termed it as the authorities' frustration. "The government of India and its regime here are using pressure tactics to suppress the ongoing agitation. After the authorities failed to crush the movement by bullets and curfews, they are now trying to pressurize us by these crackdowns and arrests. But it won't deter our resolve," Gilani said.

Another senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi, has strongly denounced the spate of civilian killings in the territory. Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi, addressing a gathering at Badgam in connection with martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (RA) highlighted the different facets of Hazrat Ali's (RA) life and described him as one of the greatest heroes of Islam.

Referring to the present unrest in Kashmir valley, he said that innocent Kashmiris were being killed under a well-hatched conspiracy by Indian troops. The APHC leader urged India to withdraw troops from the occupied territory, repeal draconian laws and release all illegally detained Kashmiri Hurriyet leaders and activists so that conducive atmosphere could be created for amicable solution of the dispute.

Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi also appealed the international community and world human rights organisations to take notice of continued killings and violations of human rights in the Occupied State of Jammu & Kashmir.

The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People's Freedom League, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani has expressed profound shock over the triple terror blasts, one after another, on a big procession on Wednesday near Gamay Shah, Lahore, taken out to mark the anniversary of martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (RA).

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement, while condemning the killings of innocent citizens, said that there were deep-rooted conspiracies against the sovereignty, solidarity and communal harmony of the nation, which called upon the people of all faiths and creeds to unite, rise to the occasion and uphold the message of the holy month of Ramazan.

The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement (JKPM) has condemned the killing of as many as sixty five innocent Kashmiris by Indian forces during the current agitation across the territory. The Chairman of JKPM, Ghulam Ahmad Mir, speaking at a party Working Committee meeting at Rajouri, said that the human rights violations would continue till the complete withdrawal of forces from the occupied territory and revocation of draconian laws. "The troopers are committing gross rights abuses with impunity due to the invocation of black laws in the territory," he maintained.

He urged India to take concrete steps to fulfil the five demands of the veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, if she was sincere to find out a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute.

Emphasising that India should accept Kashmir as a disputed territory before initiating talks, he said that India was talking about the dialogue process just to hoodwink the international community. He demanded of an immediate end to the killing spree besides bringing the culprits to justice.

The Executive Director of Kashmir Centre London, Professor Nazir Ahmad Shawl, has said that autonomy or self-rule within the Indian constitution is not acceptable to the people of occupied Kashmir. Professor Nazir Ahmad Shawl in a statement issued in London said that the present uprising was a categorical intent of the people of the occupied territory for which they had been struggling for last six decades. "The present struggle is not for economic packages or good governance," he added.

He said that the people of Kashmir were no longer prepared to be lured by concessions or promises made by the Indian government. Shawl said that through the sustained struggle, the people of Jammu and Kashmir were sending a message to the international community that its time to act, intervene and facilitate a result-oriented tripartite dialogue had come.

The Executive Director said that previous election results were also surreptitiously used by the Indian leadership to cover up their crimes and massive human rights abuses. "Elections in occupied Kashmir have never been credible. The previous so-called elections were just a military operation as every pro-freedom leader was denied the political space and placed behind the bars," he maintained.

Professor Nazir Ahmad Shawl said that the present movement needed to be viewed as a declaration by the people of Jammu and Kashmir that nothing short of self-determination was their ultimate goal and they must be given a choice to choose their own political future according to their aspirations in a free and impartial atmosphere.
